Following yesterdays unrest in Gulshan Ravi area where a Christian man Humanyun Masih was accused of desecrating the Holy Quran, Lahore police have lodged the case as an act of terrorism.

545 people have been booked for causing unrest, vandalizing a church and damaging national property. Articles 7/ATA, 295 A. 432 436, 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal code have been included in the case.
SP investigation Ijaz Dogar of Iqbal Town has reported that a case has been registered against 545 people out of which 40 have been arrested. The rest are unknown and the police are conducting raids for their arrest. He also confirmed yesterday’s incident of a charged mob targeting local Christians of the area.

It has also been reported that a local cleric of Shabab-i-Milli a sister organization of Jamaat e Islami ordered the mob to gather and torch the church in Sanda. He made announcements from a mosque that whoever has committed blasphemy should come out of the house to honor their religion.
Home Minister Punjab Shuja Khanzada has said that security of churches has been increased and tangers and police have been on duty ever since yesterdays unrest.
