95 million granted to Christians during last four years: Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith harmony

Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has stated that 95 million rupees had been granted to Christians during last four years. These funds were extended to the Christian citizens out of the Minorities Welfare Fund.

Poor Pakistani Christians

The Ministry further explained that in total 724 Christian students received scholarships, which was about 5 million rupees in all. It was stated that 49 developmental schemes in various areas were initiated while their cost reached over 50 million Rupees.

Moreover, the statement said that a grant of 50 thousand Rupees is granted to the Christian widows for the marriages of their daughters. In last four years, the government has extended financial aid to 7713 Christian Pakistanis in its tenure.

This year 1.5 million Rupees have been granted to Christians this year. Details emerged that thus far 19 developmental schemes were given in year 2013-14, 18 in year 2014-15 and 12 in year 2015-16.
