A Christian Detainee Dies Under Police Custody In Nankana Sahib

A 22 yr- old, Pakistani Christian mysteriously dies while in police custody.

Nadeem was subjected to accusation of burning a copy of the Holy Quran, consequently, the Nankana Sahib police had detained him without an FIR, seven days before, he passed away under custody at Warburton police station.

The police said, that Nadeem was confined under protective police custody, latter on he was moved to the Warburton police station, where he expired. District police officer(DPO) Nankana Sahib, Ghulam Mubashar Maken clarified that Nadeem was awfully diseased while in police custody, for that reason, he passed away. He further, added that no affirmative proof had yet been established, thereupon no case was filled against the young respondent.

Maken went on to unveil that the a local committee of Ulema had related that there was no credible proof, thus far, which might suggest that Nadeem had burned the Holy Quran. Since the police was waiting for the final verdict of the Ulema Committee, blasphemy case was not filed up to now.

Nadeem’s dead body has been handed over to his family, by the police and proceedings have been initiated under section 174.
