KASUR: Armed men attack and plunder the cattle belonging to a local Christian family.
As CIP has learned, in excess of 30 fanatics armed with lethal weapons attacked and burgle the cattle belonging to a poor Christian family. The victims are residents of a village in Punjab, called Jago Ki Ghuman, near Chak No.45 Pariana Pattoki , District Kasur.
The affectees approached, Advocate Sardar Mushtaq Gill- National Director of LEAD. The distressed victims ask for legal and moral support and recovery of the looted cattle, snatched by force along with other burgled belongings of the family.
As the victim Bashir Masih revealed that, “on 15th of May,2013 some armed Muslims forcibly entered into my house and took two Buffalo’s and one kid of Buffalo whose value in money is nearly Rs.425000 (Approximately US$ 4250) and one motor bike whose value in money is Rs.30000 (Approximately US$ 300).” The mob did not settle for looting only but abducted Bashir Masih and kept him in confinement in their private prison cell and afflicted him with sever torture for many days. The aggressors, threatened victimized family, while passing shameful remarks about their women.
Bashir Masih went on to reveal that the following day, on 16th of May ,2013 Sugran Bibi approached a local Police Station of Serai Mughal to register complaint against the culprits. However, the SHO Serai Mughal was reluctant to take action against the culprits, as a result refusing to register her complaint. The culprits are said to be influential people of the area, and Landlords of the Village.
In retaliating, a false FIR bearing NO.136/13 was filed by the culprits, on 19th of May ,2013, against Bashir Masih trying to intimidate the victim to settle down the matter. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the affectees contacted the local political leaders who showed unwillingness to help them or getting involved in the matter.
Preceded by several days of intense mental torment, an FIR bearing NO.155/13 was finally registered against the culprits on 31st of May,2013. Despite the filling of an FIR, the Police is hesitant to arrest the culprits and has done nothing for the recovery of the looted belongings of the Christian family. Prior to this, Bashir Masih was released from the unlawful custody of Muslims.
As Bashir Masih told LEAD’s National Director that they were frightened and fearful after that awful incident, and feeling of insecurity has been haunting their minds.”I will commit suicide if my belongings will not be given back as those were only my assets which I have saved for my family”, said Bashir.
“Our future is dark and no hope of any good” said Bashir.
“I have three daughters and five sons and I had planned to sell those buffaloes and used on the marriages of my daughters but now I have nothing. I went to political figures and requested to do something for taking back my belongings but all in vain,” Bashir grumbled.
“We are going regularly to high police officials but they also do not want to help us and also not trying to arrest them,” told Nazir Masih brother of Bashir.
“We are not safe in Pakistan because who wishes to toture us happily torture and even police seems hopeless to make them punished from Court,” Bashir and Nazir whined.
