ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court’s acquittal of Khalid Jadoon comes as no surprise to Christian leaders.
According to details, the Islamabad Court discharged charges against a Muslim cleric, Khalid Jaddon Chishsti; who had been arrested on allegations of falsely framing a 14 year old Christian girl, Rimsha Masih in a blasphemy case.
The alleged cleric had fabricated accusations against the Christian teenager of burning pages from the Koran. As a consequence, the accused spent quite a few days in detention, whereby has departed from Pakistan after her release and acquittal from the charges along with her family.
The alleged fabricator of allegations Khalid Jadoon was under no circumstances properly impeached, whilst “as witnesses have now withdrawn their accusations he has been freed.”
The Attorney of Khalid Jadoon and a prosecution lawyer said that,” A district court accepted there was no case to be heard against him.”
The Chairman of All Pakistan Minorities Alliance Dr. Paul Bhatti said while commenting on IHC’s ruling, “I am extremely disappointed at the court’s ruling.” He was keenly observing and following the case as well as facilitating the accused teenager behind the scenes.
Allama Tahir Ashrafi, head of the Pakistan Ulema Council said that,” the acquittal was a disappointment for people working to promote religious harmony.”
The Religious freedom supporters on the other hand, who recently observed “a black day” on Minorities’ Day for the minority rights, have also censured the outcome of this case against Khalid Jadoon Chishti altogether.
