ISLAMABAD: All Pakistan Christian League expresses its concerns over the “selection” of minority candidates for the reserved seats of the National Assembly.
According to details, All Pakistan Christian League (APCL) held a press conference at the National Press Club to bring out their point of view on the “selection” policy for the candidates to the seats reserved for minorities in the National and Provincial Assemblies. The Press Conference was headed by Chairman All Pakistan Christian League Professor Salamat Akhtar, Chairman Muslim Maseehi Itehad Samuel Yaqub Billu , Aaamir Sandhu APCL President Rawalpindi, James Salamat along with Amer Riaz and almas Bhatti APCL General Secretary Punjab.
In their Press Release the APCL authorities expressed their disappointment over the ignorance of the higher authorities in Election Commission of Pakistan regarding the “selection” procedure; while demanding the “election” procedure for the reserved seats for the minorities. Professor Salamat Akhter declared the Electoral System for Minority prevailing in Pakistan as unsatisfactory.
