APMA’s office inaugurated in Peshawar, committed to promote inter-religious harmony


All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA) has inaugurated its office in Peshawar. This office is going to work as a zonal office which will run under the chairmanship of Dr. Paul Jacob Bhatti brother of Shahbaz Bhatti (late). The All Pakistan Minority’s Alliance members reiterated their commitment to serve victims of injustice.

Members of All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA) also stated that they will strive committedly to provide legal assistance to the victims. This office will be running under the supervision and chairmanship of Dr. Paul Jacob Bhatti. This event was attended by Bishop Humphrey Sarfaraz Peter- Moderator and Bishop of Peshawar Church of Pakistan, Father Pervaiz Emmanuel Faisalabad Parish, Father Anthony Ilyas, Father Jacob Joseph Dogra. Many others were present on this occasion.

The members of All Pakistan Minorities Alliance stated that they are committed to uphold peaceful coexistence of people from different faiths including Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs and others. The All Pakistan Minorities Alliance was founded by Shahbaz Bhatti- a prominent Pakistani Christian. The group was formed in order to raise voice against violence and discrimination against religious minorities in Pakistan.

In 2002, Shahbaz Bhatti and Pakistan’s war veteran Cecil S. Chaudhry and others founded the All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA). At that time, Shahbaz Bhatti was unanimously elected as Chairman of APMA. Shahbaz Bhatti led this group comprising of nationwide coalition of representatives from minorities communities and NGOs. Cecil S Chaudhry had founded APMA on the basis of a campaign; which hitched minorities’ representatives from across Pakistan.
