Azad Kashmir: Christian children pay homage to the innocent victims of APS massacre

Christian children hold a candle light vigil in the memory of the innocent children who had lost their lives in the Army Public School massacre. Children hailing from the Community Centre in Bhimber Azad Kashmir lit candles as a gesture of solidarity with the victims and their families.

A special ceremony was held in the Community development center, and Christian children of Bhimber participated in the event. Little children offered prayers for the schoolchildren who perished in the attack, along with the school teachers and their Principal. This event was organized by Shakeel Anjum Founder of the Community Center.

At this occasion, sorrow and grief was expressed by the little children as they continued to offer prayers for peace in Pakistan. They said that the victims were innocent, they did nothing to provoke the terrorists. Taking innocent lives is a great sin, they asserted. Prayers were also offered for the families of the children who had died. Children prayed for peace and harmony in the country as they held candles in their hands.

December 16 marked second anniversary of deadly terrorist attack on Army Public School (APS) Peshawar. Nation mourned as they commemorated those who had fallen. Rallies, vigils and other events were also held across the country in order to express solidarity the families of the victims of the APS massacre.

On December 16, 2014 at least 144 people were killed in what is called the worst terrorist attack in country’s history. The victims included, 130 students, also who were shot dead by the terrorists. Seven terrorists who opened indiscriminate gunfire at everyone in sight. The victim students aged between six to 16 years.
