Baghdad: Death toll from ISIS suicide attack rises to more than 160

The fatalities rate from Saturday’s suicide bombing in Baghdad has risen to more than 160. A heavily crowded shopping district was targeted by ISIS, which was the deadliest attack in the Iraq in years. The bloodshed occurred in a mostly Shiite district in Baghdad.

A truck carrying explosives ripped through a heavily crowded shopping district in Karrada neighborhood in Baghdad on Saturday, July 2. The death toll has risen to more than 160, causalities includ women and children. The shopping district was heavily crowded after people started gathering preparing for Eid-ul-Fitr.

Terror group ISIS claimed responsibility for the deadly attack. The attack left well over one hundred wounded, Iraqi Premier, Haider al-Abadi directed stricter security measures in Baghdad in response to the terror strike, while declaring a national mourning for three days.
