DHAKA: Two pastors arrested over preaching the Gospel to the people.
According to media details, two pastors in northwestern Bangladesh two pastors were arrested and now likely could each face two years in prison if convicted of “hurting religious sentiments.” The police arrested the pastors while they were preaching along with 41 people listening to their preaching at a rented house in Nabinagar village. At least a mob of 100 Muslim men interrupted the meeting and violently began “jabbing” at the church leaders’ faces, according to the witnesses.
Those 41 people who were listening to those preachers were detained along with their children. They were however, released that same night. The pastors were however not released. They were charged with “hurting religious sentiments” and luring Muslims to convert to Christianity by offering money. The church leaders on the other hand have dennied both charges.
“We did not tell anything to anyone that might hurt religious sensibility,” one of the pastors, said. “We did not offer any money to anyone to be converted to Christianity
