Senior Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, Bashir Ahmed Bilour killed in a suicide attack in Peshawar.
Bashir Bilour, was a 69 year old central leader of the Awami National Party, ANP. He had been engaged in politics since 40 years now.
His brother and Federal Minister of Railway, Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, has confirmed the death of Bashir Bilour.
A few hours ago, he was seriously injured in a suicide bomb blast, in Kisa Khawani Bazar; a central part of the provincial capital. His personal secretary, Haji Noor Muhammad and police officer Abdusstar Khattak died on the spot. At least 9 have been killed as a result of this suicide bomb attack up till now, and 17 are critically injured. The reported 9 casualties include 5 policemen.
Bashir Ahmed Bilour was rushed to Lady Reading Hospital, in a critical condition. He received severe wounds on his chest and abdomen. A team of senior doctors attended him, but he couldn’t survive.
He attended a party meeting at the house of a local ANP leader in Dhaki Nalbandi; at 6:15 pm as he was coming out of the house after the meeting a suicide bomber, approached Bashir Bilour and blowed himself up- eyewitnesses
