Pope Francis has condemned twin blasts at All Saints Church in Peshawar that killed at least 82 people as an act of “hatred and war”. He remarked over the Peshawar incident at the end of his trip to the city of Cagliari on the Italian island of Sardinia.

In his message he said, “Today, in Pakistan, because of a wrong choice, a decision of hatred, of war, there was an attack in which 82 people died. This choice cannot stand. It serves nothing. Only the path of peace can build a better world.”

Earlier on Sunday, 22ndof September, 2013 two suicide bombers targeted the All Saints Church when a congregation of around 600 was present at the Church. According to official reports the death toll has now reached above 80 with more than 150 injured.

 

As an aftermath the indignant, Christians burst into protests in various cities of Pakistan largely in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Rawalpindi along with condemnations from national and international leaders.
