In the wake of rising violence carried out by Boko Haram and other militant groups, some of the regions in Nigeria are actually devoid of Christians.
According to media reports, in some of the regions of Nigeria there are litrellay no Christians to be found as some they have either been slaughtered or have fled from the violence of Boko Haram and other Islamist militants. Bishop of Maiduguri, described Boko Haram’s terrorising advances in Niger, Chad, Cameroon and Libya, while sternly demanded that Western military intervention may be the only option sufficient to deal with the militants of those terrorist groups who have allied themselves to ISIS.
The diocese of Bishop of Maiduguri is located in right in the core of an area that is controlled by ISIS in northern Nigeria. He is of the opinion that: “The West must send ground forces in order to oust Boko Haram and contain its advances.”” A Western-led military campaign is necessary,” he added.
Bishop indicated that the militant group’s attack on Baga has exposed the limitation of the Nigerian Army and the inefficacy of its officers who are more inclined to “take orders instead of giving them.” “Within the ranks of the Army there are Boko Haram sympathizers, some of whom have secretly joined the organization. There are also others who have simply left the Army and joined Boko Haram,” he added.
