Chief justice took notice of the rape case of a minor Christian girl on Thursday reported in a section of the press on May 7. The court ordered Inspector General of Police, Punjab to submit a report on Saturday.
The Chief justice has taken a notice on the media report demonstrating that a Christian girl, resident of Daskka, was allegedly rapped few days back by four Muslims. She was rushed to the DHQ hospital and admitted to ICU, sialkot in a critical condition. The police helped local people abduct and pressurize girl’s father to reach at an agreement with the rapists instead of registering a report against rapists.
A human right organization moved a writ in a local court on a request of victim’s family seeking speedy action against the criminals and recovery of the girl’s father.
In result, police registered an FIR and arrested two of the rapists but victim’s father is still under arrest.
Furthermore, it was also requested to the chief justice to bring the rapists to book in the interest of justice.
