Chief Minister Announces Completion Of Bahawalpur Solar Park Project in 2016

Power cuts have created an on going dilemma in Pakistan. People are facing more than 8 hours of power outages and temperatures are ever high. The much awaited summers come with problems of its own.

Radio Pakistan on Saturday reported that Pakistan and China have agreed to complete work on generating 900 megawatts of electricity in Bahawalpur Solar Power Park by 2016.

“The project will be completed by 2016 while 300-megawatt of electricity will be generated from the power park by the end of this year,” Punjab Chief Mister Shahbaz Sharif said during a meeting with a Chinese delegation in Lahore.

The Solar Power Park project is part of the China, Pakistan Economic Corridor and the Chief Minister has ensured that the project will be completed on time and will benefit many.
