Christian youth threatened by Chinese authorities in case they attend a house church in central Guizhou province. The officials tried to prevent the Christian youngsters from going to a house church threatening them of not allowing them to attend college if they failed to comply with their demand.
A Christian advocacy group Christian aid reports that the Christian youth was threatened of not being allowed to attend college or permitted to join military if they attend a house church. China aid quotes Mou, pastor in charge of Huaqiu Church saying: “This notice was sent to all of the schools in Huaqiu. They intend to cleanse us and ask us to join the Three-Self Church – the government sanctioned Protestant church.”
The officials also threatened the parents of the Christian youngsters, saying they will be sued if their children attend church, China Aid reports. The officials harass the Christian youth, on pretext of the law that bars children under the age of 18 to receive any religious education. China Aid disclosed that a church source told that he was informed by an official that the top government leadership had directed these measures against the house churches.
