Young Christian social activist Joshua Dilawar wins the esteemed Gates Foundation’s family planning leadership award. Joshua along with two others won the award from Pakistan. Young social activist is a self-motivated advocate of SRHR and family planning.
Joshua Dilawar is among the 40 winners from across the globe; successfully scooping 2017’s 120 Under 40: The New Generation of Family Planning Leaders’ awarded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health. He has been ardently endeavoring to bring about changes and enhancements in social, behavioral and economic tendencies. For this purpose, he has run many advocacy and performing arts campaigns.
Joshua Dilawar is currently working as a project officer at Samaj Development Foundation. In August 2015, United Nations Development Program (UNDP-Pakistan) acknowledged his efficacious efforts and honored him with Most Active Volunteer Award. Global Citizenship Education (GCED) Alumni of UNESCO-Pakistan, he also brought the house down by winning Youth Excellence Award in 2016. Sughran Health and Education Development Organization bestowed upon him this award.
Some of the other projects he has embarked on include collaborated exertions with the International youth Alliance for Family Planning (IYAFP), AWID, Amnesty International and International Youth Activists Network (IYAN). With an intention to engage Pakistani youth, Joshua has also founded Institute for Social and youth Development (ISYD).
