Christian Colony Attack: COAS honors two security guards who fought valiantly against the terrorists

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif honors the valiancy of the security guards who had been in the forefront against the terrorists during the terror strike on Christian Colony in Peshawar. These Wapda security guards had fought fearlessly against the terrorists who had launched an attack in the early hours on September 2.

Terrorist attack on Christian Colony

COAS has bestowed a laudatory cash prize of Rupees one million each upon both security guards. He also presented them with souvenirs in acknowledgement of their bravery and valuable services. Those honored include Wapda’s Security sergeant Khanood Ali khan and Security Guard Najeem Ali Khan. COAS also praised rest of the security guards who were on duty on September 2, and had played a pivotal part in fending off mass destruction.

Chairman Wapda Lieutenant General Muzamil Hussain (Retd.) expressed gratitude towards the Chief of Army Staff for acknowledging the services of Wapda’s security guards and honoring them with praise and cash prizes. He also paid tribute to the valuable services rendered by Pakistan Army on every front.

On September 2, at around 5:50 am, four terrorists hailing from a Taliban splinter group launched an attack at the Christian Colony in Peshawar. Security forces neutralized the attackers in a 40 minutes stand-off as all four of the assailants were killed. The attackers were armed with weapons and wearing explosive vests, two out of four detonated their vests.
