Christian Colony terror strike follow-up: Army nabs terrorists involved in the attack

Pakistan Army apprehends terrorists involved in the terror strike in Christian Colony in Peshawar. While briefing the media, Director General ISPR, Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa said that a group of terrorists who had been involved in Christian Colony attack has been busted. He was briefing the media today, Tuesday, September 27.

During the media briefing, General Bajwa said all four facilitators involved in the Christian Colony attack have been seized; at the same time he detailed that the attack was planned in the neighboring country Afghanistan. He briefed that the facilitators had helped the terrorists who carried out the attack to reach Christian Colony. General Bajwa later presented the four men who had facilitated the attack before newsmen.

On September 2, early morning four suicide bombers stormed into the neighborhood and opened indiscriminate fire. The attackers were armed with weapons and wearing explosive vests, two out of four detonated their vests. In a shootout, remaining two were gunned down by the security forces. A Christian resident of the neighborhood, identified as Samuel Masih was killed in the attack.

Previously, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) had lodged the first information report (FIR) of the Christian Colony attack. The FIR was lodged on the complaint of the police officials of Mathra Police Station. Moreover, evidences were collected from the scene and were sent to the forensic laboratory for examination. Security forces claimed that a major terrorist attack was thwarted as a result of the neutralization of the suicide bombers.
