Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif while strongly condemning the brutal murder of a Christian couple in Kot Radha Kishan termed it “an unacceptable crime”.
PM said, “A responsible state cannot tolerate mob rule and public lynching with impunity. I have directed the Punjab chief minister to show no mercy, and law should take its course to punish those who are responsible for this act.”
PM Sahrif said, Pakistani state has to act pro-actively to protect its minorities from violence and injustice and to promote inter faith harmony among various religions.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif met the inspector general Punjab and other law enforcement agencies officials and restated that strict action will be taken against the perpetrators. CM was informed that an anti-terrorism court had already begun hearing cases against the suspects arrested. The Cm was alos apprised that police have recorded the statement of Yousuf Gujjar – owner of the kiln where the couple was burnt.
