Christian human rights activist honored for his efforts to promote interfaith harmony

Pakistani Christian human rights activist and socialist Khalid Shahzad has been honored with a Peace Award. The recipient of the Peace Award is an active human rights worker who has always been at the forefront for the struggle for the rights of insolvent people. He is also widely acknowledged for his efforts to promote interfaith harmony among Christians and Muslims.

This award distributing ceremony was organized by a local newspaper The Day Daily Mashriq, in the honor of Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The assembly acknowledged his role to propagate peace among Christians and Muslims during last three years.

Khalid Shahzad has been efficaciously involved in settling the dispute between Christians and Muslims during the violent incidents in Mandi Bahaudin, Wazirabad, Gujrat, Sara-e-Alamgir and Farooqabad. Khaild Shahzad expressed gratitude and said: “It is a great honor for me that I have been awarded with this peace award with the great columnist, poet, and social activist Mono Bhai, the greatest Lollywood and PTV actor Asim Bukhari and greatest Punjabi poet Baba Najmi.”

He went on to voice gratitude towards the Daily Mashriq and said that he is proud to be a Pakistani and said that he owes much to his country.
