LAHORE: Pakistan Christian Congress and Christian National Movement united to make every effort for ensuring equal rights Pakistani Christians.
The leaders of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC and Christian National Movement CNM collectively decided to go all out to attain basic democratic rights for Pakistani Christians.
In a meeting both parties decided that Christian National Movement CNM will amalgamate in Pakistan Christian Congress PCC for welfare of Pakistani Christians in order to create harmony among them and unite them to struggle on one platform of PCC. Christian National Movement has its headquarter in Muridke while it extends its regional offices in cities like Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Lahore, Kasur, Faisalabad, Sargodha and various other districts of Punjab
Mr. Shahzad Kanwal- President of Christian National Movement CNM said,” Merger of CNM in PCC was decided in general body meeting of CNM in Sialkot and soon merger will be announced in a press conference in Lahore in presence of leaders of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC and Christian National Movement CNM.”
While, Sardar Mushtaq Gill-President of Pakistan Christian Congress Punjab PCC and Mr. Akram Waqr Gill-Chief Organizer of Punjab province PCC received the decision of CNM Chief Shahzad Kanwal and CNM Council leaders to join Pakistan Christian Congress with gladness.
Dr. Nazir S Bhatti- President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC praised Mr. Shahzad Kanwal for joining PCC along with other CNM leaders. He thus termed merger of CNM in PCC,”In best interests of Pakistani Christians, thousands of CNM members will make PCC strong.”
In the intervening time, it has been speculated that Mr. Shahzad Kanwal will be assuming an important office in the Central Council of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC. Even as other leaders of CNM will be assuming the posts of District officers in Punjab. The merger will be officially announced in a press conference at the Lahore Press Club shortly.
