In line with details, the frustrated Christian community rallied under the patronage of Human Liberation Commission of Pakistan (HLCP); staging a protest. This protestation was carried out outside Lahore Press Club in opposition to the ‘discrimination’ on part of the administration and Sargodha police against Christian community.

The protestors were holding banners and placards inscribed with “anti-government slogans,” while the demonstrators continued to chant in favour of their demands.
This protest was predominantly, organised against unfair conduct of local government and police concerning the matter of a Christian couple being looted and forced to vacate their home.

As reported, a Christian girl Monaza was married to Ansar a Christian boy. Soon after their marriage, some locals burgled their house; forcing the couple to abscond the village whereas police did not take any action what so ever in this regard.

While speaking to the protestors, Nazir Masih one of the victims of this incident said,” He witnessed mugging at his house and police did not come in time despite information being given to Rescue 15. When the police arrived; nor it did stop anyone from beating us neither it took action against any one.”

He further said, “Criminals with the help of police were now threatening him and other Christian families who were victim of the incident, adding local police and PML-N leadership will be responsible if they face any assault or untoward incident. He demanded chief justice of Pakistan to take notice and provides justice.”

At this occasion, Aslam Pervaiz Sahotra Chairman of Human Liberation Commission of Pakistan said,” Christian families including women were beaten and forced to leave the village in the presence of police. While DSP Asshiq Jutt, on the instructions of PML-N MNA Zulfiqar Bhatti, is not taking any action against culprits.”

Human Liberation Commission of Pakistan Chairman further said, “Local leadership of PML-N was providing shelter to criminals.” He insisted on the Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take urgent notice of this incident and initiate due action against PML-N MNA Zulfiqar Bhatti and DSP Ashiq Jutt for acting as co-conspirators with the criminals.
