Christmas tableau, carol singing event organized at GC University for first time in 150 years

For the first time in 150 years, Christmas tableaus and carol singing function was organized in Lahore’s G.C. University. Students of the Government College University presented lively tableaus related to Christmas. Furthermore, Carol singing was also arranged by the Christian students of the University. This special Christmas event was coordinated by Xavier Pervez and Irfan Amos Christian students of the G.C. University.

A special cake cutting ceremony was also organized at the G.C. University. At this occasion the Vice Chancellor of the G.C. University Professor Dr. Hassan Amir Shah, (Sitara-i-Imtiaz) cut the cake; followed by presenting special awards to the Christian students who had been instrumental in conducting the event.

Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Hassan Amir Shah, presented special awards to Chaudhry Amon Emmanuel (Vice President of Business Accounting and finance Society of G.C. University), Noman Iqbal (President of Jones physics Society) and Suleman Warris.

Government College University has a glorious history of more than 150 years. Initially known as the Government College, Lahore the institution was renamed as the Government College University after it was granted the status of a University in 2002.

This is one of the historic seats of learning in the Islamic world. Owing to the grandeur of its status among the seats of learning; the institution is a blend of old traditions of the institute and the up-to-date educational standards. GCU ranks among the most famous of Lahore colleges; being among the first educational institutions that were established in the Punjab. The institution has seen generations of students who went on to attain eminent positions in all walks of life.
