In this regard, Christian workers of PTI and Churchmen penned a letter to PTI Chairman. The press release dated June 19, 2018 says that a meeting of the Christian PTI workers, Churchmen and KPK’s Christians was held and the situation was brought under discussion. The press release states that the Christians were irked over the fact that Christian community has again ignored in Electiion 2018 like they were in 2013.

“Because in Elections 2013, Sikh community was assigned with first position, Hindu community was awarded with second and third positions”. In this regard, Church leadership argued that Christians played a vital role in the creation of Pakistan as they supported Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The press release stated that even after Pakistan was created, Christians had been instrumental in spreading the light of education in the country. At the same time, Christians had rendered valuable services in medical field. “Our mission still continues with love and patience,” the statement read.

It was stated that PTI has caused disappointment among Christian community as it did not include Christian members in its priority list. Therefore, Christian leadership urged Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf to include Christian PTI worker Waqas Khokhar. Waqas Khokhar is member of PTI from District Peshawar. Christians urged PTI Chairman that their representative should be included in the priority list for provincial assembly so that the Christian community feels relived from the insecurity and cast their votes in favor of PTI in the upcoming elections.
