CPO Multan visits St. Mary’s Cathedral, reviews security arrangements


City Police Officer Multan (CPO) visits the historic Saint Mary’s Cathedral located on Qasim Road, Multan. CPO Muhammad Ahsan Younas met with Christians during this visit and discussed with them their problems. The official guaranteed the Christians that police is making all-out efforts in order to maintain infallible security at the churches in the entire city.

CPO Muhammad Ahsan while addressing the gathering of Christians said that he felt honored to be able to visit one of the historic churches in the country. He was excitedly welcomed by the people at the church. The senior Police official met with the Christians and asked them about their problems and concerns.

“I am thankful to God, that he has given me an opportunity to serve the people of Multan,” CPO told the gathering. He continued saying that the reason he was there was to review security arrangements of the church and identify and solve problems being faced by the church administration and Christians.

“It is our duty to ensure that you (Christians) are able to worship in your churches without any fear,” he said. He told the gathering of Christians that they were honorable for him and his force. CPO stated that senior police officials also visit mosques in order to identify and solve the problems being faced by the administration. “Police is duty-bound to solve the problems of the citizens,” he said.

On this occasion he announced emergency numbers, where citizens could contact police for immediate response. He told the gathering that his senior officers were sent to visit all the 37 churches in Multan for the same reason. CPO announced that at least once a week a police official will pay visit to churches in order to keep an eye on the security situation. These police officials are directed to listen to the problems of Christian community.

“You are our brother, we need to work together in order to solve our problems,” he reiterated. “We will immediately respond to all your needs, I ensure you that you are important to us,” he told the Christians during this visit. Christians present at the church appreciated the effort of the CPO and said that it was for the very first time that CPO of the city had visited their church.
