RAWALPINDI: Terrorists involved in attack on Army Public School Peshawar awarded capital punishment by military court. According to an Inter Services Public
Relations (ISPR) statement, the Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has verified that eight terrorists who were involved in the Army Public School, Peshawar attack were tried under the Pakistan Army Act 2015.
The ISPR statement says, “In view of the nature and gravity of offences preferred against each, seven terrorists have been awarded death sentences, whereas one terrorist has been awarded life imprisonment by the military courts.”
Keeping in line with the details, at least seven terrorists who were involved in attacks on the Army Public School in Peshawar and Safoora Chowrangi attacks were awarded death sentences by a military court today on Thursday, August 13. Whereas, one other terrorist was sentenced to life imprisonment.
The statement added: “Today, the sentences of death have been confirmed by the Chief of Army Staff. The convicts have the right to file an appeal before the Court of Appeals.”
Terrorists hit the Army Public School Peshawar last year on 16th of December 2014. As aresult of thsi lethal attack numerous school children were killed and countless were injured.
