A Swedish evangelical church has taken up the task of using drones to drop thousands of Bibles into ISIS controlled areas of Iraq. The Livets Ord (Word of Life) church in Uppsala in northern Sweden has stated that drone technology will be used to drop thousands of small, electronic Bibles into the wedged areas of Iraq.

The Livets Ord (Word of Life) church’s mission director Christian Åkerhielm while talking with media said: “The Bibles are the size of pill boxes and have a display. They require no electricity, but work on their own.” The church stated on its homepage: “Our ambition is to pass on the hope and love of the Christian gospel to a population living in closed areas where they are being denied human rights.”

Another organization which has not been named is to help the church in carrying out the mission of dropping the bibles. “We start our project in a few weeks and hope to drop thousands of Bibles,” it said. Livets Ord is a mainstream charismatic church in Sweden. The church was founded in 1980’s and runs a series of evangelical schools for children.
