The Assyrian Patriotic Party, has armed and dispatched an active force of some 40 Christian members to join the Kurdish Peshmerga. These are armed to fight the IS in the northwest of Iraq, according to party official Henry Sarkis. The unit of these 40 Christian men has been named Dukha, an Assyrian word that means “sacrifice.”
