Eid fete: Christians present flower bouquets to police personnel deployed at churches in Lahore

As a gesture of interfaith harmony and gratitude, on Sunday July 3, Christians of Lahore joined hands with PML-N workers and political leadership to present bouquets of flowers to police personnel deployed at more than 100 churches across the city. In an effort to compliment the police force deployed to protect churches in Lahore, Christians found it easier to compliment police force through flower bouquets.

Police force honored by Christians in Lahore

These Christians along with PML-N workers and church leaders paid their earnest tribute to the personnel who perform their duties while protecting the churches. This event was held under the auspices of MPA Mary Gill, who expressed gratitude towards all the participants. “I am highly thankful to dearest sister Shaista Pervaiz MNA-PMLN for her kind presence in today’s event held at Cathedral of Resurrection Mall Road Lahore to honor the thousands of policemen and police officers who provide security to hundreds of churches every Sunday especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan while fasting in this hot summer.”

At a ceremony held at Cathedral of Resurrection Mall, hailing police force, SP Headquarters Lahore Umar Saeed and various other police officials were paid homage as they were presented with garlands and flower bouquets. The attendees laid emphasis on the efforts and sacrifices of Police Department to protect the citizens. “I am also grateful to Bishop of Lahore Rt. Reverend Bishop Irfan Jamil and Reverend Shahid Miraj for their gracious support,” MPA Mary Gill stated.

The Christian lawmaker further expressed gratitude to her allies, Rana Mubashar Iqbal, Saif ul Malook Khokhar, Bishop Ayoub Khawar (Youhanabad), Faryad Bhatti (Bahar Colony), Joseph Qasim (Manga Mandi), Salamat Aziz (Batth), Rafique Saroya (Bhobtian), Akram Bhatti (Bilal Town), Pastor Saleem Masih, Babar Bhatti (Raiwind), Ashir Aryan (Gulberg), Rasheed Bhatti (Mozang), Sadaf baji (Cantt) and PML-N workers.
