Eminent Christian leader Julius Salik denounces Quetta hospital blast


Celebrated Christian leader Julius Salik strongly condemns terror strike at Civil Hospital, Quetta. Shortly after the incident, Julius Salik issued a press release in condemnation of the attack. The incident took place on August 8, Monday when a bomb exploded in Civil Hospital’s Emergency Department. “May God heals the injured soon, and grant peace and comfort to those who had lost their loved ones.”

“This is a condemnable incident,” he stated in his press release. Julius Salik, Convener World Minorities’ Alliance and Organizer Awami Masiha Party heaped condemnation on the elements that carried out the attack. We condemn the incident in strongest possible terms, “This incident is deeply saddening, condemnation is not enough,’ he stated in his press release.

He stated that terrorists are eyeing to tread upon the courage of Pakistanis, but we will never let this happen. “In this hour of distress we stand in unity with the victim.” He stated that he is praying for the ones who had lost lives in the incident and those who had sustained injuries. He stated that he is praying for a speedy recovery of the injured.

Death toll from the explosion reaches 97 and scores wounded as the tragedy continues to unfold. More than 50 lawyers and media personnel had gathered in Civil Hospital’s emergency department after death of Advocate Bilal Anwar Kasi, president of the Baluchistan Bar Association. In line with recent reports, Pakistani Taliban faction has claimed responsibility for the suicide attack at the hospital where lawyers were targeted.

Baluchistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti stated, “The blast occurred after a number of lawyers and some journalists had gathered at the hospital following the death of Bilal Anwar Kasi, the president of the Baluchistan Bar Association, in a separate shooting incident early this morning.”
