Renowned Christian educationist of Quetta, Sir Younus Barkat passed away on July 10, Sunday. The legendary educationist met an untimely end while performing his duty at the Saint Francis Grammar School in Quetta. He was an academic boon for the precluded students of Quetta- his contributions in the education sector area splendid legacy.
Sir Younus Barkat was serving as the Principal of Saint Francis Grammar School, suffered a fatal heart attack while at duty and breathed his last. His illustrious career of 24 glorious years in the field of education included his unprecedented services towards the nation.
Sir Younus Barkat was born on 21 May, 1966 in District Zhob, Balochistan. Received early education in Zhob, later roved to Quetta in pursuit of higher education. He acquired MPA and M Ed. degrees from University of Baluchistan with distinctions. He stepped in as an educationist in 1992. During his career, he had enjoyed the privilege to serve as head of the same institutions he had attended as a student. He was also serving as an administrator of the Catholic board of Education Baluchistan.
He has left two sons and one daughter as survivors, while his significant other had already passed away eight years ago. Memories of Sir Younus – a man of integrity and principles will always be enkindled with fondness among his students and family. His bereaved family urges for prayers, as they bear the loss of the notable prodigy.
