An Evangelist has been allegedly accused of blasphemy. He has also been convicted for abducting his sister.
Evangelist Pastor of a local Church in Pakistan has been under indictment, for possibly committing blasphemy. An FIR has been filed against him, under section 295C of the Pakistan Penal Code, consequently, his arrest warrants have been issued, however the pastor and his family have fled to some unknown place. The police are now probing for the fugitive.
A Human Rights Organization, REAL, based in Washington DC, writes “Our team approached the pastor and his family for interview while they were hiding and pastor made us aware of that he has been beaten, humiliated, and that a local cleric and a local Muslim have tried to kill him. They also filed a FIR (295c) against the pastor and a warrant has been issued against the pastor. Our team approached police station that verified this and spoke to the relevant police officer who notified us they are searching pastor and that they will get him and put him in jail. The police officer also confirmed that a fatwa has been issued against pastor and he needs to hand himself to the police to fulfill law and for his own protection. The Pastor and his family are appealing to the prime minister and president to give them justice and protection. He also requested Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to take action against those people who wants to kill him and his family.”
