Federal Minister for Human Rights expresses condolences to bereaved family of Amjad Sabri

Federal Minister for Human Rights Kamran Michael paid a visit at Amjad Sabri’ house; in order to offer condolences to his bereaved family. The Federal Minister arrived at his house on June 24, Friday and met with his family members. During his visit, Kamran Michael voiced deep sympathy on the demise of renowned Qawali singer.

At this occasion, Federal Minister offered prayers along with the Sabri family for peace of deceased Amjad Sabri’ soul. He expressed determination to hook the assassins of the celebrated artiste. He told Amjad Sabri’ mother that he was deeply saddened to hear of the sudden loss. Kamran Michael paid tribute to the legendary artiste and acknowledged his contributions for promotion of peace.

Amjad Sabri was shot dead in Karachi, on June 22, Wednesday afternoon, when unknown assailants fired at his vehicle in the Liaquatabad area. 40-years-old, Amjad Sabri, and an acquaintance were travelling in a car when the incident happened. Amjad was critically injured; the two of them were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed hospital, where the legendary Qawal succumbed to his injuries. On the other hand, Tehreek-Talibaan Pakistan Hakimullah Mehsud group has accepted responsibility for the attack.

After learning about the incident, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow and strongly condemned the attack. He announced a 10 million Rupees grant as a financial support to the family of the late qawwal. “The loss of Amjad sabri at the hands of coward terrorists is loss of entire Pakistan. His contributions through promotion of love and tolerance all around the world are unmatched and unparalleled in present time,” an official statement from the PM said.
