The displaced people living in the camp of El Batari, in Kass, South Darfur, complain of poor health, the spread of diseases and lack of health care by the authorities.

According to reports, typhoid, malaria and diarrhoeal diseases are the most common, especially among children. The environment in the camps has worsened due to the accumulation of rainwater on the roads leading up to Kass and this has caused the spread of epidemics.
