According to media reports, overseas development minister of Germany Gerd Mueller told the media that the care facility in Germany could serve 100 rape victims from Syria and Iraq. He said he had spoken with five young girls on a visit to Iraq who had been captured by ISIS and gang raped. “Three of them are now pregnant. We have to take care of such girls,” he said. Mueller did not publicise a schedule and location where the centre would be established.

Ever since, ISIS has made an advance and captured areas in Iraq and Syria it has kidnapped tens and thousands of women and girls from minorities including Christians, Yazidis, Shias etc. These captives are going through severe sexual and mental torture in ISIS captivity.

Earlier in November, the U.N. Commission of Inquiry on Syria released its first report which focused on crimes committed by ISIS; presenting a gruesome picture of what life is like in areas under control of ISIS. Massacres, beheadings, torture, sexual enslavement and forced pregnancy were reported by the Commission.
