Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Khalil Tahir Sandhu has stated that government stand with the suffering family of a 14-year-old Christian girl, who was gang raped in Farooqabad, District Sheikhupura. The incident has raised a massive wave of outcry over the heinous act by Muslim men. “Justice will be done after investigation is completed.”
The Provincial minister assured that the government stands in solidarity with the affected Christian family. He said that the political rivals are trying to twist the facts due to their vested interests. The minister said this during his visit to the victim’ house on Wednesday, July 13.
He told the victimized family that the Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif directed him to call on them. He assured them that the government will provide legal and financial assistance to the family. The local Muslim community has testified that the victim’ family has been living peacefully in the village for several years. “Such incidents are inhumane and anti-social elements get a chance to spoil the environment.”
During his visit to the victim’ family Punjab’ Minister for Human Rights and Minorities’ Affairs was accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary for Minorities Affairs MPA Tariq Masih Gill and SHO of the concerned police station.
