Government of Punjab brings succor to Christians of Mianwali District

Government of Punjab brings succor to the destitute Christians of Mianwali District. For this reason, financial aid amounting to one lac and forty five thousand Rupees has been distributed among Christian residents of Mianwali District. A ceremony was organized for this purpose where cheques were handed out to penurious Christians.

Punjab’s Minister for Agriculture Amanat Ullah Shadi Khel graced the ceremony as chief guest. Deputy Commissioner Shozab Saeed also attended this ceremony. During this ceremony a total of twenty nine indigent Christians were awarded with relief cheques.

Provincial Minister for Agriculture Amanat Ullah Shadi Khel while addressing the attendees said that Government of Punjab intends to ensure protection of Christian community. Deputy Commissioner Shozab Saeed said that district administration and Mianwali Police will spare no efforts to make sure that the churches across the district are safe and secure. He said that provincial government will put to use all the available resources to dispense basic facilities to the Christian community nestled throughout Punjab.

This ceremony was attended by clergymen and other Christians representing their community. While speaking on behalf of Christian community Amjad Martin, Babu Patras, Pastor Khalil, Pastor Rujhan Shahid and Pastor Naeem Oveen expressed gratitude and appreciation for the benevolent act of the provincial government.

At the same time, Amjad Martin appreciated the performance of district administration and the provincial government. He assured the government of all possible cooperation with the administration saying that Christian community will always abide by the laws and regulations. Christians, who had received the cheques, said that this was a significant effort on Punjab Government’s part. They expressed gratitude to Provincial Minister Amanat Ullah and Government of Punjab.
