PESHAWAR: Sarah Masih finds hope when Governor of KPK pledges to bear her studies expenses till Masters.
According to media report, Sarah Masih an 18-year-old, Christian student gained attention of the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KPK Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan Abbassi. The KPK Governor has assured the Christian girl that her study expenses will be bore by him. Moreover, he assured Sarah of free of cost education from University of Peshawar.
Sarah Masih who hails from Landikotal which is a war-torn area. She a student of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Landikotal and passed FSc. pre-medical exams with flying colours securing 720 marks with a top position despite her college remained closed for most of the times.
“I studied at home because the school was closed due to security concerns. There is no concept of tuitions or lectures and teachers themselves suggest the option of self-study.”
Father of Sarah Masih, Yaqoob Masih had earlier appealed for support from the authorities. For the reason that Yaqoob Masih lacks resources to bear her educational expenses previously called upon the KPK Government and other authorities to lend a hand of assistance.
The Governor, KPK after taking notice of Yaqoob Masih’s appeal called for the parents of Sarah Masih, and met with the Christian family. At this occasion, Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan Abassi appreciated Sarah for scoring outstanding marks at intermediate level, and encouraged her greatly.
Sarah Masih, despite being from a underprivileged family harboured a dream of becoming a doctor. During the meeting with the Governor, she said that if education becomes within access to all in FATA, only then, would the awareness for betterment be created among the tribal people.
