According to reports in Uttar Pradesh Hindu militants have announced the “reconversion” of about 70 people who had embraced Christianity. The Hindu militants claim that conversions had been prompted by violence or intimidation, claiming that the convert residents of the village had “realized their mistake,” and returned to the Hindu creed.

The group tore down the cross on the village church, announcing that it after a “purification” ceremony it would be converted into a shrine to a Hindu god.
