A restaurant in London has announced free of cost meals for the homeless and the elderly on the Christmas Day. This restaurant is owned by local Muslims has announced to offer a three-course meal to the down-and-out and the old people who have no one to celebrate Christmas with. The restaurant has put forth a public invitation for the elderly offering free meal on Christmas Day so that “no one eats alone.”
Shish Restaurant, in Sidcup, has extended gracious offer on the auspicious occasion of Christmas. The restaurant has been offering the locals to spread the news among the masses. For this reason, posters of this offer have been put up in order to let the needy know of the offer. “We are here to sit with you” on 25 December the posters read.
The restaurant administration has been calling upon the locals to use the social media in order to disseminate the news of this offer. Fitly, this initiative has been met with praise, acknowledgement and encouragement. One of the local Vicky Lanfear remarking about the initiative wrote on his Facebook: “This is the most selfless gesture I have ever seen and they should be recognized as a pillar of the community.”
Another local Suzannah Harris expressed her appreciation for the initiative by adding: “What a lovely gesture; a restaurant that gives something back instead of merely seeing Xmas as a time to cash in. Will definitely visit in the new year if ever in the area.”
Linda Leach expressed her appreciation: “There is still kindness in this world. Amazing people.” The gesture took social media giant Twitter by storm when masses posted tweets regarding the gesture exhibited by Shish Restaurant. One of the tweets about the act read: “A wonderful gesture. Now that’s REAL community spirit! God Bless them.” Another Twitter user, Sally Barnes, tweeted “These are the kind of acts that the Muslims I know carry out with generosity. Someone tell the Daily Mail please!”
The free three-course meals being offered by Shish Restaurant will be available between 12pm and 6pm on Christmas Day. The meals will include soup and Cacik as a starter, a choice of chicken casserole, vegetable casserole or a chicken shish as a main dish, and rice pudding for dessert.
