Condemnation heaped upon the terror outfit carrying out attack on Peshawar’s Christian Colony. Human Rights Focus Pakistan HRFP has condemned the attack in strongest possible terms. The attack claimed two lives including a levies personnel and a civilian identified as Samuel Masih. On September 2, early morning four suicide bombers stormed into the neighborhood and opened indiscriminate fire.
The attackers were armed with weapons and wearing explosive vests, two out of four detonated their vests. In a shootout, remaining two were also gunned down by the security forces.
While expressing deep sorrow over loss of lives, Naveed Walter, President Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) appreciated prompt response and efficacious strategy of security forces who were able to thwart mass destruction. At the same time he expressed well wishes for two frontier corps soldiers, a police constable and two civilian guards were injured during attack.
Furthermore, HRFP demanded that the government must provide fail-safe security to religious minorities especially to Christians after being targeted. HRFP further demanded that security must be beefed up in all Christian colonies, churches, missionary schools and mission hospitals throughout the country. It was further demanded that the government must formulate special task forces which should be assigned with the task to monitor and secure Christians’ neighborhoods, churches and other missionary installments.
