Federal Minister for Human Rights Kamran Michael has called upon athletes hailing from minorities’ communities to participate in the Minorities Sports Festival scheduled to kick start from August 7 till 11. The festival will be held at Islamabad’s Jinnah Stadium, Sports Complex in Islamabad. The festival will be marked by games of Cricket, Football, Basketball, Body Building, Athletics, Badminton, Weight lifting, Wrestling and Tug of War.
“I urge all boys and girls who are talented to participate in the sports event at national level. This is the first time that a sports festival is organized at national level for the athletes hailing from minorities. Ministry of Human Rights will be providing basic facilities such as accommodation and food to the participants,” Kamran Michael stated in a video message.
“I feel overwhelmed to announce that this is the first time in Pakistan’s history that a minorities’ sports festival is being organized at national level. I welcome you all, participate in the event,” he urged the nation.
Those interested to participate can register themselves for the event at the following registration desks in various cities of Pakistan, last date of registration is July 30, Saturday.
