SRINAGAR: Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Shah Gillani has expressed his concern and grief over the increasing attacks on the Churches in New Delhi.

According to media reports, Syed Ali Shah Gillani said that these attacks are well planned and organized and the Hindu communal parties are behind these attacks. He went on to say that as a result of increasing religion based hostility in India, there is a serious threat to the life, property and dignity of all the minorities. He is present in New Delhi for health checkups, said that the incessant attacks on Churches in New Delhi has significantly threatened the Christian community of India as they feel insecure. There has been a rise in attacks on Christian institutions and churches from last few months in which their religious symbols are being targeted.

Gillani also strongly condemned the Delhi police, which carried out violence over a peaceful protest by Christians in Delhi. More than 200 Christians were arrested by the police that day. He termed the use of power over the peaceful protest demonstrations of the Christian community in Delhi as unjustified. At the same time, he urged for impartial investigation into the heinous incidents.
