A Church set on fire by the Hindu extremists in an Indian State.
According to details, a church was set on fire in the new state of India; Telangana. Telangana was officially created in the Indian Federation, only a few months ago and is now seeing religious violence at the hands of Hindu extremists. The Protestant church of the village of Tadur in Mahabubnagar District was reportedly set on fire by unknown vandals and has been completely destroyed as a result of this incident.
The local Christians, however, claim that members of radical Hindu groups are responsible for the incident and have committed the mischief. Moreover, this was an only church in the village. The church building was built with bamboo and straw, because of this the entire church structure is destroyed as a result of fire. What is more, Bibles, books and the all the furniture inside the church was completely destroyed. Nonetheless, police investigations are in progress.
While speaking about the incident, Pastor D. Srinivas said: “Before this incident, on several occasions, Hindu extremists threatened me, warning me not to come to the village and not to build the church”. Pastor D. Srinivas regularly visited the village for mass.
Notably, more than a dozen anti-Christian attacks have been recorded in recent past few months in the district. According to Rev. Ronald John, Chairman of the Joint Commission of the Christians in Telangana, “the attacks have increased since the Bharatiya Janata Party has been in power”
