Air strikes in Iraq

Leader of the ultra-extremist group ISIS injured during an air strike by the Iraqi forces.

According to media reports, Iraqi Air Force carried out an air raid and pounded the convoy of ISIS. It was reported that that the terror group’s commander Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been injured as a result of this bombing. The Baghdad Information Centre however, has verified the air strike injured al-Baghdadi. “Iraqi air forces have bombed the convoy of the terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi while he was heading to Karabla to attend a meeting with Daesh [ISIS] commanders.”

However, it has not been confirmed about the extent of his injuries or his condition after the air strikes. The ISIS convoy which has been targeted by the Iraqi Air Force was on it’s way to meet the terrorist group’s other top commander. Apart from Al-Baghdadi, three of his deputies were killed as a result of the air strikes.

“Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was injured in the bombing that targeted his motorcade,” the Baghdad Information Centre said in a statement.

Moreover, ISIS has suffered heavy loss. The hospital sources and local residents told the media that eight senior local ISIS commanders were killed in the air strikes which hit two houses. On the other hand, they claimed that al-Baghdadi was not among those who were killed.
