Christian lawmaker Asiya Nasir protests against the deplorable negligence of doctors in Irfan Masih case. Member National Assembly Aisya Nasir walked out of the National Assembly as a gesture of protesting against the condemnable incident in Umerkot where a sewer cleaner died because the doctor refused to touch his body.

MNA Asiya Nasir strongly condemned the display of negligence from the doctors Civil Hospital Umerkot, mainly because the senior doctor at the facility refused to touch his body as he was ‘fasting.’ In keeping with Pervaiz Masih brother of deceased: “Dr Yousuf said he would not touch Irfan’s dirty body until it was cleaned because he was fasting.”

Pervaiz Masih told the media that he cleaned Irfan’s body, after which an oxygen pump was sent for Irfan, but that was empty. He detailed that his brother was brought to the hospital as soon as he could but still he could not survive only because of negligence of the doctor. Irfan Masih fell unconscious after he inhaled poisonous gases locked inside a manhole. Irfan had dived down to clean a manhole.

Pervaiz Masih said that the SSP Umerkot Usman Bajwa had promised that the responsible doctor would be taken to task and that police would carry out fair investigation in the case. MNA Asiya Nasir criticized inaction against the doctor who had committed reprehensible crime.
