ISLAMABAD: Pakistani security agencies have warned the government of Pakistan about the escalating threat from the ISIS militant group.
According to a media report, the provincial government of Balochistan conveyed a confidential report to the federal government and law enforcement agencies. The report contained serious warnings about increasing influence and footprints of the Middle Eastern terrorist group ISIS, also known by its Arabic acronym of “Daish”.
On the other hand, ISIS has claimed that 10,000 to 12,000 tribesmen from the Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kurram tribal district, Pakistan have joined the terror group, according to a report by Dawn. Moreover, there are media reports that five ISIS commanders have entered Pakistan, as a US led coalition continues to batter the terror group’s strongholds in Syria and Iraq.
