Islamabad: Ministry of Human Rights honors Christian athletes

Christian athletes including men and women, honored at a local prize distributing ceremony in Islamabad. This was the first of its kind ceremony in acknowledgement of achievements of Pakistani Christian athletes. The ceremony was held at Hotel Holiday Inn, on June 17, Friday.

Prize distribution ceremony at Parliament House

This prize ceremony was organized by efforts of Federal Minister for Human Rights Kamran Michael, as the Ministry backed ceremony was marked by distribution of prizes and certificates of appreciation among Christian men and women athletes, who have made a mark at international sports horizon. Several Christian athletes were present from across the country.

The prize distribution was attending by Federal Minister for Human Rights Kamran Michael, Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani Khar, Senator Mushahid ullah Khan, Member of Punjab Assembly Shahzad Munshi, Member of Punjab Assembly, Shakeel Khokhar, MPA, Kanjee Ram, Senior Vice-President of PML-N Lahore Saleem Rehmat Sindhu, Pastor Anwar Fazal, Bishop Azad Michael, Bishop Rufen Anthony, Member of National Assembly Asiya Nasir, and other Parliamentarians.

At this occasion, the Church and political leadership of the country paid tribute to the Christian athletes who have represented Pakistan internationally. PML-N’ Kamran Michael was appreciated for his efforts to organize this prize distributing ceremony and hopes were expressed for future events of this sort.
