PEMRA initiates crackdown against Christian TC Channels in Islamabad’s G-8 Sector. Details emerged that the anti-Christian channels operation started from Hansa Colony, when PEMRA teams raided the offices of cable operators. This action was reportedly prompted by a senior journalist’ criticism who pointed fingers at the transmission of the Christian channels despite PEMRA’s ban.

In line with details, the action is taken on the report of a senior journalist who had pointed out in a report that banned Christian TV channels including ISAAC Tv, GAWAHI Tv, SHINE STAR Tv are on air which is a violation of the law. Reports are that PEMRA will continue to raid offices of cable operators who are relaying the transmission of Christian Tv Channels in other cities such as Lahore and Karachi.

Previously, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) had issued a notice, directing that airing of 11 Christian TV Channels be stopped. The notice is issued to all the regional general managers calling for immediate measures to stop the transmissions of the Christian channels which have being termed, “ illegal.”

The notice read: “It has been reported that following illegal and unlicensed Satellite TV Channels are being aired on Cable TV Networks across the country” PEMRA had mentioned 11 Pakistani Christian TV channels their names are as follows:
1)ISAAC TV, 2) GAWAHI TV, 3)GOD BLESS TV, 4) BARKAT TV, 5) PRAISE TV, 6) ZINDAGI TV, 7) SHINE TV, 8) JESUS TV (JC TV) 9) HEALING TV, 10) KHUSHKHABARI TV, 11) CATHOLIC TV

“All Regional General Managers are requested to take necessary measures to stop transmission /relaying of above mentioned illegal TV Channels from Cable TV Networks in the respective regions immediately,” the notice directed.
